• Each service has a unique Port address

• Max. Port Addresses can be 65,536

• Port address 1-1023 is reserved for specific Services like

• WWW                       -                             80

• FTP                             -                             21

• SMTP                       -                             25

• Port Addresses are reserved for standardization purpose.
